
Weekly Programme
Welcome to the Summer 2010 KSD Edinburgh Programme.
We meet in the KSD Shrine Room, 2nd Floor, 28 Great King Street, off Dundas Street, Edinburgh unless otherwise stated.
All Prayer and Meditation sessions are free of charge. However, a donation (suggested sum: £3) is always welcome and helps to cover our costs. Weekly teaching sessions are charged at a nominal rate. These low rates are made possible by our teachers, who kindly volunteer their time and skills as a donation to Kagyu Samye Dzong.
Mondays
7pm – 8pm – Guided Meditation
Sitting meditation practice. Although this is not a teaching session as
such, Ani Rinchen Khandro will be happy to stay on after the session
to discuss matters related to meditation practice. By donation.
Tuesdays
7pm – 8pm – Chenrezig Puja
Chenrezig is the Bodhisattva of limitless compassion and loving kindness.
The practice of Chenrezig Puja is to develop his pure qualities within
ourselves for the benefit of all beings. By donation.
Wednesdays
7pm – 8:30pm – Buddhist Study Group
Ian Tullis will lead group relection on Buddhist Texts. £5
(£3 concession).
Alternate Wednesdays
7pm – 9pm – The Five Elements - Qigong
Ani Rinchen will teach the Five Elements qigong form excellent for
decreasing stress and increasing energy. There will also be warm ups, self-massage,
sitting and walking meditation for balanced health of body and mind. Starting
on 12th May the course is for 6 sessions, classes will be held every alternate Wednesday in the
Main Hall, 1st Floor, 28 Great King St. 6 Week Block, fortnightly £48 (£36 concession)
Thursdays
7pm – 8:15pm – Green Tara Puja
Green Tara is the female emanation of Buddha nature who embodies wisdom
and compassion in action. She is also known for her speed, readiness
to help all beings and for overcoming obstacles. His Holiness the 17th
Karmapa has particularly requested that we practice the Green Tara Sadhana
to engender her qualities and to counteract negativity on both a personal
and global scale.
Ani Rinchen Khandro will be happy to stay on after the puja to answer any questions you might have about the practice. By donation.
